Description

Bakuchiol (CAS: 10309-37-2) is a natural organic compound extracted from the seeds/fruits of Psoralea corylifolia L. It has excellent efficacy in skin care and is a natural alternative to retinol.

Basic Information

Chemical properties: molecular formula C₁₈H₂₄O, molecular weight 256.38, belongs to isoprenyl phenolic terpenes.

Appearance and properties: The high-purity product is a pale yellow to brownish-yellow viscous oily liquid, with a faint lemon/herbaceous aroma. It has strong lipid solubility and is easily soluble in ethanol and DMSO, but almost insoluble in water.

Stability: Sensitive to light, heat and oxygen. It should be protected from light, sealed and stored at low temperatures. Antioxidants (such as vitamin E) are often added to the formula to stabilize it.
